We can help you build a highly effective government relations and advocacy structure, while navigating all necessary regulations. This includes the creation of federal and state board supported legislative priorities, developing “legislative champions,” logistical preparation for public hearings, presentation materials for key legislative leadership, galvanizing collective stakeholder support and other ongoing advocacy strategies.
The following are examples of our work in Public Policy & Government Relations:
- Gained foundational understanding of the CT General Assembly as a legislative intern during my MPA program.
- Worked on federally funded Inter-Jurisdictional Policy Management project at UCONN’s Institute of Public Service to more effectively and collectively address community challenges and opportunities regionally.
- Helped develop and support state policy and legislation while at the City of Hartford to support critical programs.
- Established first-ever Capital Workforce Partners Legislative Advisory Committee made up of congressional staff, state legislators and Board members to develop, adopt and implement annual legislative priorities.
- Was registered state lobbyist to promote new legislation and protect funding for existing workforce development programs through the education and development of “legislative champions”.
- Helped create and manage the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving’s Adult Literacy Policy Cabinet, which resulted in the “Move Up” initiative.
